Best Western Alba Hotel

I was on the top floor for one night and really liked the room and the lovely sunset. The only thing that bothered me was the bathroom sink, which hadn't been cleaned properly. There were lots of little hairs in it.

The interiors were pleasant, and the recently renovated place was very clean. There was a nice atmosphere and a spot to work. I did miss having body lotion in the bathroom, and the front desk staff didn't give much of a service feel.

My check-in was really disappointing. The official time was 3:00 pm, but they gave me a key card at 2:40 and sent me up to a room that hadn't been cleaned. I waited until 3:26, and it still wasn't ready. When I checked again, the front desk staff brushed me off, saying it would be ready when housekeeping finished. They also said the male colleague who helped me earlier probably hadn't told housekeeping to clean the room, that he hadn't done his job properly, and that it wasn't their responsibility. At 3:40 pm I still couldn't get into a ready room. For a hotel of this standard, that was unacceptable. The careless attitude and lack of professionalism at the desk left me with a very negative impression.

The hotel is in an excellent location, the staff were friendly and professional, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Our room, though, was uncomfortable because it had several design problems. The bed sat right under a sloped ceiling, so we had to bend to get in and out. My husband hit his head twice, and I hit mine once. The wardrobe was unusually small and had a fridge inside it, which gave off heat and made the space impractical. There was a noticeable drain smell, and the air conditioning was unstable. I appreciated having the toilet and bathroom in separate rooms, but there was no handwashing basin by the toilet, which raised hygiene concerns. Maybe other rooms don't have these problems, but ours had all of them.
