Chez Brigitte Guesthouse

The place was amazingly quiet, with a striking outlook through a tall French window over the railway, streets, and the expressway above. The low iron railing is a bit dizzying! This is a home, and there isn't a sign on the door, but you'll get access codes. Chez brigitte is almost next door to the Gare and was tremendous value. We loved the feeling of staying in a real, typical Nice apartment, and give it 5 stars for that alone. It was such an interesting, real experience compared with expensive hotels. It's rough and has things you may not like, such as sharing a bathroom without a shower, so enjoy it for what it is. If you'd rather travel your own way than be in a herd, go for it.

It's basically an apartment on the third floor of a block house, with three spacious bedrooms and a shared kitchen, shower, and toilet. The central train station is a five-minute walk away, and it's excellent value for money. You can check in at any time with the code from the owner, then check out by leaving the key in the room door.

Shabby chic and a bit rough around the edges, but the rooms are lovely and it has what you need, including air con, a kitchen, and free wi-fi. Just right for one night before an early train from the station.

It was okay.
