Hotel de Berne

They cancelled my reservation after saying my card wasn’t working. I’m sure that wasn’t right, since another hotel had just charged that same card. I sent messages to sort it out and got no response, but they cancelled quickly. Afterward, the booking was suddenly $500 more than when I’d made it. They did manage to message me after my review to threaten to sue, which was interesting. Other reviews describe similar situations. Unfortunate way to run a business. Save yourself the trouble of booking and then having to find somewhere else, and choose another place from the start if they won’t answer messages but will simply cancel your booking.

The location was perfect, and the rooms were clean with hot water for the shower all night. Staff and service were amazing, and the view was lovely. There was a coffee machine and tea in the room too. Breakfast was €5 for two croissants, juice, and coffee, perfect.

I stayed in room 401 in October and was more than satisfied. It was spacious, quiet, and comfortable, and the staff at reception were kind and helpful. The location is great, and breakfast was fine. For the price, it’s a really nice hotel. My deposit came back five days after I was charged.

A great location and really good value for money. The double room was spacious, with a fabulous shower. Even at a low price, the hotel is clean, friendly, and well run.
