Hotel Amour Nice

Hotel Grand Amour in Nice is a great pick if you're traveling alone or with friends and want a lively time and a chance to meet people. The rooms are fun but still sophisticated. If I ever come back as a chic Parisian photographer, I'd want a pied-à-terre like this, full of magazine stacks and leafy plants, with a marble bathtub and a balcony made for slow mornings after late nights at the restaurant and disco cocktail bar. Both downstairs spots make it tempting to stay out well past midnight.

Ahhh, hotel Amour is a dream 🌟 I've been to the Paris one, and booking Nice for our third anniversary turned out to be magic again. You could spend your whole stay just enjoying Amour, from the room to the mini nightclub to the beach resto. Everything is designed to feel fun and sexy. It's got a signature place in my heart. The decor and atmosphere are the best, and my room was excellent. It's the coolest hotel in Nice, with a lively location. It was always very busy, but the staff did their best to manage things. I had dinner there and the food was great, if a little too expensive. I'll return.

The front desk staff were friendly, and the interior design was impeccable, but I didn't have a very pleasant two-night stay. I'd been told before booking that the elevator was out of order. I understood that, but hadn't expected the staircase to be under renovation too. The fresh paint smell was still strong, so I had to hold my breath going up and down. Construction items left in the hallway also looked unprofessional. On the second night, around midnight, I started feeling strong bass vibrations. I called reception and learned the hotel runs a DJ party every Friday and Saturday until 1 a.m. This hadn't been mentioned when I booked online. Staff said phone bookings usually come with that information, but there was no email warning for online reservations. I told them that wasn't reasonable. They said they'd stopped the lobby music and only the dance floor was still playing, but the vibrations were still clear. Even my own music didn't cover them, and reception said they didn't have earplugs. I had an early flight the next morning and couldn't get proper rest. The bedside lamp base was also pretty dusty. I understand the vintage look, but cleanliness still matters. The team is friendly, but hotel management seemed unprofessional. If you're mainly after the design, photos, or party atmosphere, you might like it. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, restful stay.
