We’ve just had a great two-night stay at Hotel Nap, and we’d happily return. The room was clean and a good size, though we were out most of the time. The staff were friendly, too. The location worked perfectly for us: an easy walk to the beach, promenade, old town, shops, square, and carnival. The tram stop is nearby, which made getting to and from the airport really easy.

For around 70-80 euros a night, we thought the value was very good. Prices seem to rise a lot in peak season, which may explain some of the other reviews. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious enough, comfortable, and clean, with no problems with dirty towels or rooms like some other reviewers reported. Reception staff were friendly and very patient with my terrible French, and still replied to me in French :) The refillable water, tea, and coffee station was great, and the mini bottle of rosé was a lovely touch. The location’s fab, right beside the main shopping area and about 10 minutes from Vieux Nice, the Promenade des Anglais, and the beach. Trams are close by, so it’s easy to get to from the airport. Being so central does mean street noise. They provide earplugs, and I’d recommend using them. I didn’t hear noise from other rooms, though maybe that was because I went off-season. The lift is quite slow, so we often took the stairs. If you need to use the lift regularly, I’d probably choose another hotel. Some people with prams or pushchairs struggled.

We couldn’t have asked for a better location, it’s absolutely lovely. The lobby has free espresso and water, a great complimentary touch. Our room was just what we expected from a budget hotel, and most of the staff were very accommodating. Just make sure you choose the right room size, as some are a bit small. We’d definitely come back and recommend it to friends.

We used the buffet breakfast every day, and the selection was amazing. Our room was large, with good air conditioning and blackout window coverage in the bedroom, but cleanliness was poor: crumbs on the floor and some black mould on the bathroom wall and ceiling. It was acceptable overall. The staff were kind and helpful, even when communicating in English was tricky. The location is excellent and central. It took about 30 minutes by train from the airport.
