Nice Azur Riviera

I felt comfortable walking around the safe area at any hour. The hotel is about five minutes from Nice Ville station and the main tram stop, and the staff made check-in easy. They answered my questions promptly in person, though they didn't reply on WhatsApp despite recommending it for communication. I liked the tasteful design of my premium room, but it felt smaller than expected. Some marks on the walls and cleanliness could be addressed. The fridge was more like a bar freezer and didn't seem cold enough for storing food. The bed, though, was one of the most comfortable mattresses I've slept on in a while. I booked through Expedia and, perhaps because of my Gold status, found a lavender bag and macarons in the room, a nice touch. The lobby also had filtered still or sparkling water, pastries and cakes to help yourself to. I took a pain au chocolate for afternoon tea each day, another welcome extra.

Breakfast had everything we needed to start the day, and there are plenty of restaurants within a 15-minute walk. The location suited us: about 15 minutes on foot to the beach, with local transit just a few minutes from the door, and the train station roughly five minutes away. We stayed May 9-13 as part of an Air Vda vacations trip and enjoyed it from arrival to departure. Oceana at the front desk was exceptional, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, a decent size for Europe, and had a mini fridge. It wasn't fancy, but it worked well for us.

The staff were so kind and helpful, and the clean, comfortable hotel was a lovely base for exploring Nice and going to the beach. We had a wonderful stay, everything was better than we expected, and we'd definitely come back. Highly recommend! 🎉🥰

After we checked out, we left the room in perfect condition without any damage, but the hotel kept our deposit (Caution) and never returned the money or gave a valid reason. This is illegal under French law, which requires a deposit to be returned immediately when there's no damage. Keeping it without justification violates consumer rights and takes advantage of guests. I strongly advise people not to stay here. If you do, don't pay the deposit in cash. Use a credit card so you may have a chance to dispute the charge with your bank.
