ibis Nice Centre Notre Dame

I stayed on September 26. The location was convenient and pleasant, but the room rate seemed a bit high for such simple facilities. There were no slippers, either. It would be nice if Platinum members got some recognition or benefits.

The staff were the only good part. They acknowledged the problems and apologised, but management needs to take housekeeping seriously. My room was pathetic, small and dirty, with the dirtiest bathroom ever. The sink was clogged, there were used toilet rolls, and the floor was filthy. Avoid this place. Breakfast was average, with eggs, cereals, and boiled eggs, but those had run out by 9:30. The staff member who was covering both reception and breakfast made another portion of eggs for me. You don’t save money by staying in a dirty hotel.

The hotel offered free minted water and afternoon tea pastries, and there was hot water available from the coffee machine in the breakfast area. Our room was quite small, though that may be normal for Nice, and the air conditioning was barely noticeable. A few more bathroom hooks would help. There was no fridge or room safe.

The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was well set up. There’s a handy machine downstairs for coffee and hot chocolate, and the location and staff were great. Silen was amazing. Housekeeping was hit and miss, though, and I would have liked a fridge in the room. We stayed five nights and had a great stay.
