Ibis Styles Nice Centre Gare

We had a lovely couple of days here. The hotel was clean, our room was fairly spacious, and all the staff we met were pleasant and helpful. The room had a terrace with a city view, a nice touch that would be especially lovely in warmer weather. Breakfast was a really good continental buffet. We also liked casting services like Disney and Netflix to the large-screen TV, which sits on a pull-out bracket to save space. Getting around was easy. Line 2 tram connects the hotel to the airport, and it’s an easy walk to the main sights, including the beach and old town. The welcome was incredibly warm. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, so they offered us a welcome coffee and stored our bags while we went exploring. The next evening, after we came back feeling cold, a staff member offered my wife a free hot drink. The small downsides were a slightly cramped bathroom, which was clean and fine, and a weak shower with a temperature that was hard to keep steady.

The staff were warm and friendly, and the location made getting around easy, with Nice Ville station, the Promenade des Anglais, tram stops, and the old town all nearby. My fifth-floor room had a city view and a roomy balcony that wasn't French-style. It wasn't cramped, either. There was an old mark on the bedding, though no stain, and cleanliness felt around 8/10 in both the room and the rest of the hotel. They did make the bed, empty the bin, and replace towels each day. I appreciated the quiet climate system, good soundproofing, and blackout curtains. The lobby had free water and popcorn in the evening. Tea was available if you asked reception, but coffee from the machine cost extra. Toiletries were limited to soap and shower gel. Breakfast was modest but there was something to eat; I didn't care for the coffee.

Giovanni and Laura were especially kind and welcoming, and their care made our stay memorable. The whole team was warm, professional, and quick to help us feel at home. Everything was well organized, and breakfast had a wonderful range of high-quality choices. From the moment we arrived, the experience was fantastic and beyond what we expected.

There's no restaurant or bar, and the lobby selection is limited to coffee, tea, canned soft drinks, beer, and wine, plus complimentary popcorn. Just an OK stay, nothing remarkable.
