ibis Styles Nice Vieux Port

The location worked really well for us, under five minutes from Garibaldi and about seven from Port Olympia, with direct links to the airport and train stations. We also appreciated being able to leave our luggage after checkout for free. We found during a visit to the Ibis in Lisboa that this isn't always standard. This was our third Ibis in 18 months. We mostly use these hotels as a base for activities, and we enjoyed our stay here enough that we'd come back. The rooms were more than adequate, though the bathrooms could use attention, perhaps slow-close toilet seats. Heating was a bit of a problem, while the AC was quiet enough to run overnight. Service came with a warm smile throughout. We didn't get many chances to chat with the women working there, but Marie Ange stood out: always smiling, helpful, and ready to assist. The IBIS-style buffet made it easy to put together a meal, although some guests might want more choice. I'd have liked more fresh fruit and vegetables. The French cheeses and breads were fabulous, and I wouldn't get tired of them for a while. The croissants, though, didn't impress me. I hadn't seen an egg-boiling appliance at the other Ibis hotels, and it was a great addition. I also liked the orange juice machine, which seems to be standard at Ibis, though I'd never fit one that size at home.
