Le Dortoir Boutique Suites

From the balcony we could see the sea and a street lined with restaurants, and the beach was just a five-minute walk away. The apartment sits right in the city center, overlooking the English Embankment. My husband and I had a wonderful weekend here. It was easy to find, clean and cozy, and we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade. The cleaning service was excellent, and drinking water was provided. We highly recommend it and will definitely return.

I liked the hammam, and that was the only part of the stay I enjoyed. For the price, everything else was really below average. We had no shower gel in the bathroom, so we told the blonde receptionist, but it still hadn't been replaced when we got back. She was rude as well. The reception was usually closed and there was no staff around the hotel, which made the place feel more like an Airbnb than a boutique hotel. The website gives a very different impression and felt kind of deceptive.

The room had a lovely large patio and a modern yet classic feel. It was clean, the bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the area was impeccable. The staff were great and helped carry our luggage up and down the three or four flights of stairs. Those stairs even gave us a bit of a workout between vacation meals. We loved our stay at Le Dortoir, and the staff made it a great experience.

The friendly reception staff helped carry our luggage upstairs, and we appreciated the free room upgrade. The rooms were beautifully furnished and felt new, and the location was terrific for shops and public transport. The stay turned sour in the last two of our roughly five nights, when a strong sewage smell started coming from the shower drain and toilet. We reported it both mornings, but nothing was done. Falling asleep and waking up to that smell was awful. That lack of response was what disappointed us most. One smaller issue on the final day: room service made the bed and left fresh water bottles, but forgot to replace our towels and tea and coffee. I hope the smell has been fixed by now, since everything else was lovely. Thanks for having us.
