Le Meridien Nice

We told the hotel ahead of time that this would be our third visit, and asked for proper recognition as Ambassador-level guests and an upgrade if one was possible. Anna Pedersenova at the front desk never seemed to respond to that message, beyond sending a standard formal reply. After an overnight flight, we arrived at 3:10 PM and were offered a regular room with a water view, even though suites were available. We had to push for a suite, but were told the Mediterranean and other suites couldn't be given to us because of hotel policy. As we understand it, Bonvoy policy lets Ambassador members upgrade to the best available room except the presidential suite. It felt as if the hotel had no awareness of this basic chain loyalty benefit. We shouldn't have had to plead for a room after notifying them about our arrival in advance. Why hadn't the reservations manager assigned rooms, or the general manager made sure an Ambassador member and any hotel guest were treated respectfully? We were eventually given a room, then told to wait another hour or more for it to be cleaned, despite it being check-in time and rooms being available. We'd spent the whole night on a plane and felt badly misunderstood and disrespected as Ambassador members. We're deeply disappointed. Next time we'll stay somewhere else in Nice, and recommend that others keep our experience in mind when choosing a hotel.

We usually go for Marriott properties, but this one felt especially memorable. The whole team was terrific, and a couple of people really stood out during our stay. Ahmed, our concierge, gave us spot-on recommendations with all the useful details, and always greeted us with a reassuring smile that made the day feel off to a good start. Anne at the front desk welcomed us like family every day and had great advice. The hotel and its location were both just right. One of our best stays. Thanks for such warm hospitality! We spent almost two weeks here with our family and booked three rooms, each with a lovely view of the ocean. Waking up to the sea every morning made the trip special, and the breakfast buffet overlooking the Mediterranean was unforgettable. The team were attentive and accommodating whenever we had a request. My husband is particular about pillows and mattresses, and the manager made a real effort to find options that suited him. We appreciated that care. There was an odor by the elevators on the 9th floor, but the hotel fixed the issue promptly. Le Méridien Nice is in a wonderful spot, with breathtaking views from the rooms. We found our stay comfortable and memorable, and would gladly return or recommend it to anyone looking for a well-located hotel with thoughtful service and striking views.

We had a great stay and plan to come back. The hotel overlooks the ocean and is close to plenty of shops, restaurants and the old town. We enjoyed the food and drinks at the hotel’s restaurants and bar. The public spaces and our bedroom were clean and well maintained, and the reception, restaurant and bar staff were helpful and professional. Everyone we spoke with also spoke English.
