Hind, the apartment manager, was gracious and accommodating throughout our stay. She replied promptly to our questions and went out of her way to find a piece of online equipment we needed that wasn’t available locally. The Josephine Apartment was comfortable, with elevator access, and perfectly placed in Old Nice with a sea view. Restaurants, shops, and the Cours Saleya market were all easy to reach on foot. We spent two lovely weeks there, enjoying both the local food and shopping for market ingredients to cook in the small but well-equipped kitchen. We can’t wait to visit again!

The apartment Alexander made our stay in Nice much worse. We paid a lot for a very ordinary room, and it was noisy because the July heat meant we had to keep the windows open with fans running. The shower was cramped, had weak pressure, and its head wouldn’t stay on the wall. The towels were worn, the sheets looked old, the shower was dirty, and the kitchen was missing basics, with just one bowl for three people. There was no air conditioning. The bigger problem was where we were actually staying. We chose this place because the website showed four apartments in the historic Palais Hongran, and we wanted that building. On arrival, we learned our Alexander apartment was in another building around the block, with nothing special about it. The team acted surprised we hadn’t realized, but none of their emails made the different address clear. I’d even said how excited we were to stay in the historic building. They pointed to a bullet point in the room details, but as visitors we had no reason to expect the address would be different. I’ve never booked a room at one location and then found it somewhere else. It felt like bait and switch. Our friends stayed at Salaya around the corner and loved it. I’d booked there too, but cancelled because we wanted the historic location. The team apologized, but that didn’t change how frustrating this was. I don’t usually write negative reviews, but people considering the Alexander apartment should know what they’re booking. It really affected our time in Nice.

We loved every minute here. The room was spacious, spotless, and gorgeous, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. You’re right in the middle of Nice’s old town on its main restaurant street, just 50 meters from the beach. Hard to beat that spot.

Mme Vallet is on hand whenever you need something, and makes you feel the warmth of real Provençal hospitality. Her place is a gem, right in one of Nice’s best locations. I wouldn’t bother looking elsewhere.

Really lovely host, and a nice location too!
