Palais Saleya Apartment & Suite

The two-bedroom apartment overlooking the square was comfortable and well equipped, and the staff were friendly, engaging, informative, and helpful. We appreciated the €55 shuttle after a 40-plus-hour trip from Australia. Palais Saleya is in the heart of Nice Old Town, close to public transport, restaurants, and shops. Noise from the square carried on into the early morning, then started again a few hours later with garbage collection and other activity. Ear plugs were supplied. The room also had no cooling, and we were advised to open the windows for cool air. A room that doesn't face the square might be the better choice. Despite those issues, we were happy with our hotel choice.

My Junior Suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a soft bed and pillows. It had a kitchen with a microwave, stove, toaster, fridge, plates, and cups, plus an iron and board. There was also a separate upstairs loft area with another bed. The hotel is conveniently located in Old Nice, near major sights, attractions, and restaurants. My stay was positive overall, though the air conditioner was broken in my room and in my friend's room next door. The weather wasn't too hot or cold, luckily. The vent blew warm or hot air in both AC and heat modes, even though I checked that the thermostat was set to AC. I opened the window to cool the room, but mosquitoes got in.

We had a fantastic three-night stay at this hotel. It's right in the centre, close to buses and the tram for getting around all parts of Nice. Celina at the front desk was super helpful and made the trip even better.

We had a washer and dryer, which were great to have, although the dryer didn't dry clothes as well as expected. We could hang them up and use the hair dryer or towel warmer if needed. The front desk staff were extremely kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the nearby tram goes to lots of places, including the train station. Our family of three stayed five nights in July at Hotel Palais Saleya, and we couldn't have loved it more. The loft suite gave my 23-year-old daughter, my husband, and me plenty of room to feel comfortable. The location in the old town was perfect, close to amazing restaurants and a short walk from the beach and farmer's market. We highly recommend this boutique hotel and would definitely stay again.
