Promenade sur les toits

We were touched by the welcome in our room: a handwritten card for our wedding anniversary, along with two glasses of champagne and delicious macarons. What a lovely surprise. We spent five nights here and had a wonderful time. The hotel was clean and within walking distance of the ocean, shops, and restaurants. Everyone on staff, including the breakfast team, was attentive and helpful. Special thanks to Laetitia and Vasco for their kindness and care. This place is a gem in Nice, and I’d definitely recommend it.

We had a spacious room with a balcony and loved it. The decor was thoughtful and stylish, and the linens, towels, and bathroom fixtures were all good quality. Everything was kept in pristine condition. Breakfast had lots of choices and was excellent. The whole team was kind and accommodating. There’s protected parking in the courtyard, and the hotel is a block from the promenade, a 15-minute walk from the old town centre, and a 15-minute drive from the airport. We had a great time and highly recommend it.

We checked in today and were extremely disappointed to find our room under the roof, sloping from seven feet high to less than four. Half of it is below five and a half feet, so my husband, who’s 6ft 1, can’t stand upright. We complained, and they showed us another room that was literally a large closet, so we didn’t accept it. We’re in room 57, and it should be removed from the Bookings inventory. On this trip, we also stayed at another hotel on the promenade, and that one was lovely.

The staff made us feel very welcome. They were friendly, warm, knowledgeable, and spoke several languages, including English. They were eager to help with directions and advice, and even walked us through the French postal system and its costs. Breakfast was another highlight, with fresh meats, cheeses, bread, cakes, pastries, fruit, juices, cappuccino, and cafe late. We looked forward to it every morning, and it felt worth the price on its own. We spent six days at Hotel La Villa Nice Promenade in Gambetta. The hotel was pleasant, clean, and comfortable, and our third-floor room was large, quiet, and a great place to unwind and sleep after long days exploring the city and its surroundings. Having never been to Nice before, we chose it based on price and reviews, and the location suited us well: about a mile west of the city centre and old Nice, two blocks from the beach, five blocks from Alsace-Lorraine metro station, and less than half a mile from the train station. For a budget-conscious traveler who mainly needs a comfortable base after sightseeing or the beach, it’s an ideal place to stay in Nice.
