The agency was excellent, and the support through to signing was just right. I’d definitely recommend them.

The agent was sociable, but I had a long list of problems dealing with him. He didn’t seem to listen to his voicemails, often left me chasing him, and wouldn’t commit to calling back. He asked for payment to reserve a rental without providing a contract, requested handwritten documents by email, and pushed for bank transfers to be sent quickly. He also wouldn’t let the tenant’s name be shown digitally on the intercom, claiming the lease required a minimum period of residency before it could be changed. Communication was difficult. His French was hard to understand, and his written messages could be misinterpreted. Some of his comments were astonishing, including that apartments usually don’t have trash cans and people use bags instead, though a bin is more hygienic. He also left the tenant unable to enjoy the apartment because of a dispute with the landlord, saying it wasn’t his responsibility to travel to Cagnes-sur-Mer. For a time, he stopped replying once he had received his fees at the start of the tenancy. It also felt as if sales mattered more to him than rentals, whatever condition the apartment was in, perhaps because of the financial incentive. He asked me not to send notice by registered letter and tried to make me feel guilty for doing so, even though the decree of May 29, 2015, requires it and it is the only way for a tenant to protect themselves. That was unacceptable. On another occasion, he failed to notify me that someone was coming. He also missed an appointment: I had travelled at my own expense, and on the day he told me he hadn’t scheduled anything. He eventually apologized, but there was no valid explanation, and I lost time and money.

My apartment in the Libération district has been completely renovated by Nice Carré d’Or Immobilier, and the result is superb. Maurizio and his team handled everything from start to finish, which made the whole process much easier. The materials are high quality, and Maurizio was attentive and always there to answer questions. Thank you so much!
