Villa Serafina Apartments

For almost three weeks, I booked this studio based on its high score and reviews calling it comfortable and clean. My experience was the complete opposite. It didn’t look like the photos and was more basic, which I could have accepted. The real problem was its condition. The only table had large cigarette burns right in the middle. The dirty, unironed curtains had cigarette burns and stains too. The old kettle was full of limescale, the kitchen utensils were in very poor condition, and the refrigerator smelled so bad that my food picked up the odor. The next day I found strange marks on the sofa that looked as if somebody had gone there instead of using the restroom. It was horrible and disgusting. There was no staff at the property to deal with any of this, and during the two nights I stayed, manager Hugo replied only once every 24 hours. The property agreed to change my reservation to cover the two nights I stayed and refund the remaining days. That doesn’t make up for how uncomfortable and awful I felt there. If I’d seen the place beforehand, I never would have come.

Hugo was really informative and helpful from the start. The apartment was clean, tidy, comfortable, and had pretty much everything we needed. We slept really well in our quiet room, and the location was great. The bed was very comfortable, with a giant duvet we loved as a couple who usually have a duvet war. Hot water was always available and the shower pressure was great. There’s a boulangerie just 2 mins away with delicious pastries, plus a big Super U about a 5 mins walk away. We liked the espresso machine too, just bring your own pods if you want a coffee when you arrive. We did need to re-wash the crockery before using it, but that was quick and didn’t bother us. It was perfect for our budget, and we’d happily stay again. Merci encore, Hugo!

The location worked perfectly for exploring the city, with tram, bus, and train stations all nearby. Our apartment was just right for us, clean, and stocked with the tools we needed to cook meals. We enjoyed our stay at the villa and will come back shure!

The apartment is in a lovely, quiet area, with a grocery store just around the corner and a bakery across the tram tracks. It’s a short walk up the main street to the tram, which takes about 15 minutes to reach the city center and the beach promenade. Riquier train station is about 10 minutes away towards the port, with trains to Cannes and Monaco. We had plenty of room for a long weekend and could cook for ourselves. The balcony was nice for morning coffee or a glass of rosé. The owner was very friendly and even helped sort out a key problem when we arrived. It was our first time in Nice, and we couldn’t have picked a better place. I loved it and would definitely recommend it.
