Hôtel & Spa Vatel

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here in July. We especially enjoyed the spa, and the food in the hotel restaurant was very good. All the staff were kind and helpful. Jenna at reception was lovely, welcoming, and helpful. Thanks from the Irish couple.

The spa, pool, and fitness areas were lovely places to unwind after a busy day. I had a delightful stay at Hotel Vatel in Nîmes, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and superb hospitality. Silvia at reception was especially kind and courteous, and made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. It’s a great choice for either a business trip or a holiday. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back soon.

The staff were agreeable, and many spoke English. I had a very relaxing stay before my hospital visit. The location works well for hospital trips or for a quiet stay while visiting Nîmes. We also ate at the hotel, and the food was very good. The only downside was dirty grout in our shower.

The hotel is well located near the motorway, and there’s a bus stop right outside with a 20-minute connection to the city centre. The rooms are spacious and have a nice balcony. Service felt peculiar because it’s handled almost entirely by students from the local hotel school. I understand they’re learning, but guests shouldn’t have to be so aware of it. One evening the receptionist was alone, facing a long queue, the phone, the garage barrier, and reservation processes that weren’t working properly. That’s unacceptable. The restaurant food tastes good, but seems to be reheated in a microwave. My magret de canard had a cold crust, and my stomach felt heavy all night. The waitress also spilled wine while pouring it into my glass. In 40 years of staying in hotels, that was a first for me.
