B&B HOTEL Paris Romainville Noisy-le-Sec

We showed up late in the evening without having booked, and Yasemin sorted us out and explained everything we needed to know. The hotel was cozy and really good value. The metro is about a 15-minute walk away, there’s parking, and there’s a bakery right by the entrance.

The rooms looked just like the photos and felt more like what I’d expect from a four-star place than a two-star one. Everything was super clean, and the staff were really nice. After a bad stay somewhere else, being greeted by smiling receptionists and getting to check in four hours early was such a relief. I didn’t try the restaurant, though the photos looked nice. I’d come back and would recommend the place.

The room felt unsafe from the start. A man I didn’t know was hanging around by the elevators in our hallway when we checked out at 4 a.m. The area also seemed sketchy, and with the window not fully shut when we arrived, we could hear people and cars outside all night. The room itself had dim lighting, a loose door handle that seemed close to breaking, and a toilet that ran loudly nonstop. The beds and bathroom didn’t seem properly clean either. There was hair on the comforters, stains on the sink counters, and something on the shower floor that wouldn’t come off. We hadn’t paid for cleaning, but after our first night someone came into the room by “mistake” to “clean.” They only changed the towels and made the beds, even though our belongings were on them. We had valuables, cards, and money left out. When we raised the fact that they shouldn’t have entered without permission, the receptionist barely apologized and just shrugged. Absolutely terrible.

Jasmin made us feel at home as soon as we arrived and did more than we expected. She even spoke German. The rooms matched their description, and the rest of our stay was just as good. The location is a bit out of the way. The metro itself worked flawlessly, but the nearest station was an 18-minute walk, and buses were either much too early, very late, or didn’t show up at all.
