Le Manoir du Pont Senot

That peaceful countryside setting made it so easy to sleep well, and after a long day visiting the sights, sitting in the garden with a glass of cider was lovely. We spent two nights here in early September on our Normandy tour, and it was far and away our best stay in the region. Madame Walkyrie is incredibly kind and gave the whole visit a memorable personal touch. The restored 15th-century fortified farm feels almost like a chateau, with spacious, spotless rooms renovated with great taste. Breakfast was generous, all local, and included delicious pastries Walkyrie had baked herself. Though it feels tucked away from civilization, Bayeux, with its shops and restaurants, is only a 10-minute drive. It’s also an excellent base for D-Day sites. We plan to return just to experience the place again.

The countryside grounds are lovely, and Le Manoir has been beautifully restored. We visited in September and were welcomed by our charming hostess Walkyrie. The accommodation was first class, and breakfast featured high-quality homemade food and local products. We recommend staying here.

The homemade Calvados was a lovely introduction, and they even showed us before-and-after photos of the place. This young couple has clearly put a lot of effort into making such a beautiful B & B, and they were very accommodating. We had a wonderful stay last June, including an amazing breakfast the next morning. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend it to anyone travelling in the area.

After a tiring day, I’d be looking forward to coming back here. The rooms are spacious and cosy, and I especially loved the double decker bed. It brought back the loveliest memories of my innocent childhood. The hosts were soooooo friendly and helpful that we really felt at home. I’d bring friends along and use this as our base if I came to Normandy again. The breakfast was the best of all my trips to France, and there was so much of it. When we couldn’t finish everything, the hostess insisted we take the apple cake she’d baked JUST FOR US. We only realized after leaving that we’d forgotten to take a photo with the hosts, my biggest regret of the stay! I’d had high expectations from the 9.8 score, but the place still exceeded them by a lot.
