Domaine de Pouzelande - Les gites

The hosts are genuinely kind, and the cottage made a great base for exploring Dordogne. There’s a lovely pool for the day, quiet forest roads stretching for kilometers in the morning, and stars and the Milky Way to look at in the evening. The stay was peaceful and exceeded my expectations.

I still think about Martine and Didier and the warmth of our conversations. The property was stunning, with hectares of beautiful nature, and the farm animals seemed so happy where they were. I’d be happy there too. Breakfast came every day with a lovely variety of organic foods, including options for allergies. The owners shared several guides to help us explore the nearby town, and translated them for us. They also booked us tables at some of the best restaurants I’ve ever tasted, where allergies were handled flawlessly. I was always well fed and impressed, and everyone welcomed and spoke with us so warmly that this became my favorite stay in France. I left with a few jars of their organic peach spread and the feeling that I’d found a place for my heart to rest. It was the most hospitable place I’ve ever experienced.

The hosts were so friendly and had plenty of ideas for things to do. We stayed in a beautiful, comfortable room in the French countryside, and breakfast was fresh, organic and delicious, straight from the garden to the table. Five stars all around.

Our family had such a peaceful, enjoyable stay in one of the gîtes. Martine and Didier took great care of us. I can’t wait for another chance to stay with them.
