La Noisetière

We only spent one night here between two days at Beauval Zoo, but it was a very pleasant last-minute stay. Françoise and Isabelle welcomed us warmly and were both so friendly. They also gave us great advice about booking a restaurant and finding parking. Breakfast was generous, with delicious homemade jams. Thank you both.

The bed was super comfortable, the room spacious, and it was cleaned daily. Breakfast was good too, especially the homemade jams. This was my first time in a guesthouse and such a lovely discovery. The ladies were very kind and made us feel welcome, with lots of helpful tips on places to visit, restaurants, and things to do. I highly recommend it!

The owners were pleasant and welcoming, and their kindness did help us have a pleasant stay. The place is quiet, but restful sleep can depend on your neighbors. One night, ours snored loudly, and another morning people were talking loudly at 6:30 am without considering the other guests. Luckily that happened only one night, the others were much quieter. We stayed three nights in the Oceane room, which has two beds, but the toilet and shower are shared on the landing. The landing bathroom is awkward, and you can easily run into other guests. The room bathroom was far too small for me at 1.83 m and 90 kg, I kept bumping into things whenever I showered. I found the extra €30 charge for my 9-year-old daughter excessive, especially for this setup. We paid €471, over €150 a night, and I felt that was completely out of line for this type of accommodation. Around €80-90 a night would have been reasonable, not €157. Breakfast also felt pared down to keep costs low. We had to buy cereal for our daughter, and there was no freshly squeezed orange juice, which the owner said was too expensive, no apple juice, and no fruit, just Lidl yogurt. I understand times are tough, but we paid without checking and expected the best service possible. Breakfast seemed to be carefully calculated to provide only the bare minimum.

The owner was friendly, attentive, and gave us a really warm welcome. The house is beautiful and cozy, with spacious, nicely decorated rooms, all spotlessly clean. There's a lovely garden and a good breakfast too. I'll come back with my friends to go cycling, and we'd love to stay in the pink room with its three beds. Bravo to the owner and her daughter.
