Hôtel La Diligence

The medium room, number 307, was spacious, with a comfortable bed and an iconic view over the square and church towers. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and we loved everything about our stay. Obernai is also a convenient base for visiting nearby Colmar, Riquewhir, and Strasbourg, or for hiking in the Vosges. We’ll definitely come back.

Obernai is a picturesque little village, and this modern boutique hotel sits right in the middle, overlooking the old town square. We booked one night at first, then extended for our entire holiday. The staff put a lot of effort into making our stay pleasant. Breakfast was amazing, with more than you could wish for, and it came from local artisan food suppliers. I’d highly recommend the hotel as a great base for exploring the Vosges area. From here, you can set off on the famous Tour du Vin d'Elsacce, including Reliqwihr and Colmar.

The Christmas market square was right outside, with the Church of Saints Peter and Paul and all its lights visible from our window. It made mornings feel like stepping into a festive story. The hotel dog’s cheerful lobby greetings became another little highlight each day. Emilie and the rest of the team were caring, and breakfast was fresh, generous, and tasty. Hôtel la Diligence has a lot of charm and kindness; we’d happily return, especially at Christmas.

The staff were courteous and friendly, and the hotel even got in touch weeks before our visit with restaurant tips and help booking a table. Our room was clean and roomy. It’s right on the main street in the center of town, facing one of the Christmas market squares. We loved staying here and would consider it the place to book in Obernai.
