La Maison d'Ollioules

Time flies in this superb interactive museum, which has plenty to engage both kids and adults. It presents the region's heritage and this magnificent hotel in a very educational way. The staff are welcoming and available for questions. A must-see!

I couldn't visit because it was closed, and there was only a simple doorbell to contact someone. There's an entrance fee, with group and family rates available, and the place looked interesting. It's on a steep slope and can be reached by bus 12 from the "Mairie" stop. Further up there's an ice cream parlor where you can cool off after a visit. The streets are cool and shaded, depending on the spot and time of day.

We were lucky to have the museum director as our guide, and they made the visit fascinating. It's a big, varied, interactive museum where you could easily spend a whole afternoon. A wonderful experience, and I highly recommend the guided tour.
