The quiet is part of the charm: no traffic noise, just the leaves moving in the wind and the occasional sound from a guest's car. I loved reading in the thoughtfully decorated rooms, taking a dip in the pool, and looking out over the park from the huge terrace. It's an authentic château in a park, with its own character. It won't suit anyone who needs every modern standard, but for an unusual night away, it's a special experience.

We left before staying the night. We had booked four nights to look for a wedding venue for the following year, and although the photos looked great, the many one-star reviews on Hotels.com had made us uneasy. The chateau sits behind an industrial park that seemed to include some kind of clinic. Around 4 p.m., we drove through a wrought-iron gate and first saw the building: its exterior was run-down, the grass and weeds were overgrown, and a neglected fountain stood in the middle. I joked to my fiancée that a lawnmower could sort it out. The room wasn't ready even though check-in time had passed by an hour. The innkeeper showed us a different room, called it an upgrade and a “suite,” and said the original room would need more cleaning. We were willing to wait and see it, but when we asked, she became angry. She withdrew the room she'd just shown us, insisted we wait for ours, and tried to make us feel guilty for not appreciating the upgrade. I told her the other room was fine, but she kept shouting that we had to wait and now had no choice. That was enough for us. The encounter felt like a warning from a campy horror film. My fiancée and I grabbed our bags, got back in the car, and left without staying.

The staff were so kind and helpful, and the rooms were spotless and lovely, with each one having its own look. We had a great time at this beautiful chateau. I'd happily recommend it.

I paid for my stay through Expedia, then the hotel charged me again and hasn't responded to Expedia. That felt like outright theft. Be very careful and steer clear.

We had a relaxing stay in this lovely chateau, and the staff were warm and helpful. Already looking forward to coming back soon ❤️😍
