Breakfast was fresh, with hot and cold choices and good coffee. The rooms were spotless, and we had an adjoining room for our daughter, though the dark, overpainted woodchip looks dated and the rooms need an upgrade. Parking beside the hotel costs €10 a night and was very good. It's across from the railway station, so the area wasn't the best, with some locals drinking in the street and a few unsavoury characters around. Our reception experience was excellent: the woman who checked us in on 13/9 was friendly and obliging, nothing was too much trouble, and the bar had a good enough choice of drinks. We bought piping hot lasagne and cheese and ham gratin at reception because we didn't fancy eating out. We didn't catch the receptionist's name.

Trying to arrange the consigne was a ridiculous experience. First you scan a code, follow a link from scnf, scroll through several pages to work out where to book, then download the nannybag app. A large booking button would make far more sense. I asked whether the receptionist could arrange it, but ELODIE just told me to scan the code and wasn't helpful at all. I was alone at reception, and after 30 minutes I accidentally booked only one day when I meant days 3 to 5. The app was so useless that I couldn't correct it. I showed ELODIE the mistake and explained I'd already been charged and had a booking code. Instead of adjusting the dates, she told me to make another booking. I wasn't staying at the hotel, but I was asking for the Scnf service they offer. I got desperate and angry at the lack of help, and then the manager came over and said I had to leave for being aggressive. I left the trolley after the manager took my code, and I assume she arranged the dates. ELODIE's attitude felt disgusting to me. If she doesn't like dealing with people, she should work somewhere else. She wasn't smiley, friendly, welcoming, or helpful. Such a bad experience. I hope I never see her again. Reply to the manager: Your response shows the same lack of empathy. As far as I know, I didn't insult anyone. I got angry because of the indifference and lack of empathy from ELODIE. If you're not used to customers like me, don't come to Spain. People there have temperament and blood in their veins, and if someone is struggling, they'll do everything they can to help, even if it's an sncf issue rather than an Ibis one. It's about humanity and solidarity, something your ELODIE doesn't have at all.

The buffet breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with fresh pastries and drinks and a nice atmosphere. We were only stopping to rest on a road trip, so we didn't explore the city, though the map from staff made it look like amenities were close by. The room was fine, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and staff arranged a cot for our baby after we emailed ahead. They were lovely, very welcoming to non-French speakers, offered us water at check-in, and were extremely friendly. Gated parking with CCTV was a real plus at €10 for the night. Thanks for a great stay!

The hotel is right by the train station, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was served early, handy for getting out to explore. The centre is under a 10-minute walk away, or you can take the tram.

We had a good breakfast buffet and a quiet room at the back. Staff were friendly, and the hotel sits beside the main railway station, with a shopping centre and large supermarket there too. The beautiful cathedral is about a 15-minute walk away.
