We found paying the full amount on arrival unusual, as this was the only campsite in France that asked us to do that. We guessed it might be because there is a separate exit, but we didn't feel able to cut our stay short in case we couldn't get a refund. The campsite sits on a hill, with chalets, some rather odd-looking sheds, seasonal and rental units, and touring pitches mixed together. Electric hookups are 5 amp or 10 amp, but there weren't enough points. Some campers had to run leads across paths and roads. From our pitch, the sanitaire was across the site, and in the dark we needed a strong torch. Motorhome owners had to take electricity from the opposite pitch, and continental leads are mostly black. One socket was even wrapped in a bin bag in the middle of the walkway, creating a trip hazard. Safety didn't seem to be a priority. There are two sanitaires, though only one was open in May. It had three toilets with one central toilet roll dispenser, three showers, two washrooms, open basins, and no hand dryers. The facilities were separated for men and women. The showers were clean when we used them in the mornings, but they weren't cleaned regularly. One shower thermostat was the wrong way round, so the water came out extremely hot. The lights run on a timer and only come on when you enter the building. The laundry room hand basin had only cold water, so people had to use the dishwashing sinks. Some campers thought it was fine to wash muddy boots in those sinks. The site needs some care. The roads and paths need resurfacing, and the campsite could be better looked after.

The sanitary facilities were spotless and excellent, with plenty of hot water for both showers and dishwashing. The campsite itself was lovely and quiet, with lots of shaded pitches and a really first-rate pool. Reception staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient, and the welcoming couple who run the place made us feel at home.

There was plenty of shade at this lovely campsite, and the owner was really friendly. We especially enjoyed the natural swimming pool. During our three nights, we went on two lovely off-road bike rides, swam in the river, and took a canoe trip. We'll be back!

It wasn't quiet at all, with loads of little kids around, though that's to be expected and was fine. The pool was smallish but the water was really nice, and we had enough space. The staff were friendly, too. Those were the good parts. The sanitaire was dirty. One night I found a used, swollen, bloodied tampon on the floor, and it still hadn't been cleaned by around 9:00 the next morning. The toilets smelled awful, while the showers were all right. To sum it up, it's an okay campsite if you've got small kids and aren't specifically after peace and quiet. The sanitaire could use two more cleanings a day. Most of the time it was very dirty.

The campsite is nice, and the swimming pool is wonderful, but hygiene was minimal. They shut one of the sanitary blocks when fewer people are there. The staff were very unfriendly. It felt like getting our money was their main concern, and every question seemed like too much for them. We were charged more than necessary, as were three others, so always check what's being requested. They'd already booked more than the total amount from our Visa account without warning. We complained, but only got our money back after going to the police.
