Les chambres d'Orsay

I found the Bourbon room comfortable, clean, and very pleasant, and the staff were attentive. Sleep was the problem: a beer bar just underneath stayed open until midnight, so the room was noisy and not very restful.

We stayed in the China room for the night. It was very clean and pleasant, though you do need to watch your head. Having a parking spot available on request was fantastic. They emailed all the room access details beforehand, so check-in was quick and easy. 👍

I stayed in the Morocco Room while taking an exam at the university next door, and it wasn't a good fit. There's no desk, although there seems to be space for a small one, and the room is right behind the shared kitchen. Soundproofing is very poor, with a gap under the door. I didn't have a choice, which was a shame. If you're only visiting Paris, the noise insulation is awful, though otherwise the room is okay. At that price, it's worth thinking about whether it makes sense.

The manager was friendly and reachable by phone, and with few other options in Orsay this place can be useful. Still, my stay was a mixed bag. I was in the "China" room, where anyone over 1.75m should probably wear a helmet to avoid hitting a beam. The bed was at floor level and only so-so for comfort, and an extra blanket would have helped. There were no coffee capsules for the machine. More than 90 euros without breakfast feels pricey, especially when it's hard to find anything at 7:30 on a Sunday. The kitchen one floor down was also a bit of a mess.
