Ibis Budget Strasbourg la Vigie

A cheap, basic place that works well if you’re visiting Strasbourg on a budget. It’s easy to get to the train for central Strasbourg, just a 6 minute journey.

The whole room smelled like stale cigarette smoke, so badly that it felt uninhabitable. I booked it for myself and my 3 little kids, and they couldn’t stay comfortably. It was disgusting and completely unacceptable. I expected a clean, comfortable space, but instead it smelled like an ashtray. How is this even allowed? The hotel clearly doesn’t care about proper cleaning or guest satisfaction. I’m never staying here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Save your money and avoid this disaster!

The toilet smelled really strong, the pillows felt like three cotton balls inside a pillowcase, and breakfast was average at best. The hotel and rooms are worn out. Its so-called air conditioning made a lot of noise but didn’t cool the room at all. Not recommended, the worst Ibis Budget ever.

The small touches made a difference. We checked in late, around 10 PM, and the staff had no problem with that. Our train wasn’t until 4 PM, so they let us store our luggage for free and even offered a complimentary coffee while we waited. We stayed two days at this hotel, a little outside Strasbourg, with good public transport about a 10 minute walk away. The staff were incredibly friendly.
