La Ferme Couderc

Our 5-year-old had a brilliant time feeding Bobbin the pig, Juliette and Roméo the goats, and the ponies each morning. The owners took time to show him around farm life, and he loved their ice cream. Since the cottage access is fully pedestrianized, he could wander about freely and safely. We also loved how peaceful and restorative the setting was, with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We came away with lovely memories and a few extra pounds, thanks to Stéphanie’s delicious meals, the ice creams, and the aperitifs. We recommend it without hesitation for the warm welcome and authentic experience.

We were already laughing over an aperitif and an impromptu meal with the owners, so our stay got off to a great start. La Ferme Couderc has a welcoming, charming feel, with beautiful countryside views and real quiet all around. It’s also well placed for trying the activities Lot-et-Garonne has to offer. Stéphanie and Antoine have plenty of character, and their passion and generosity come through. There’s a pool, places to relax, activities for all ages, and farm animals, all with a friendly atmosphere. We left with a head full of good memories and want to return, whether for family time, friends, or simply to recharge and see the region.

After the competition, the golfers could unwind by the pool in the peaceful surroundings. We received a very warm welcome at Ferme Couderc, and appreciated the thoughtful touches from our hosts. It’s a place we’d gladly recommend. Air conditioning will be needed during very hot spells, and a study is underway.

I’d advise booking early and waiting for confirmation before getting excited. Five days before my trip, I booked and paid through Gîtes de France, but the payment was refused because it was considered last minute, and I was told last-minute bookings were no longer accepted. I then tried the website directly. At the confirmation stage it said the minimum stay on that date was 7 days, although the site repeatedly says bookings can be for at least two nights and arrival can be any day. I hate leaving this sort of review, but finding somewhere a week before departure is hard enough. When you finally find somewhere you like that’s available, pay and start planning, having it fall through is really disheartening.
