You can unwind beside either of the two pools or wander through the park, where roses and wild berries keep the holiday feel going. Dinners outdoors come with a gentle breeze and lovely sunsets, and the nights are quiet enough to fall asleep in peace. During harvest, you wake to the sound of the wheat fields. The Château de Janville feels lovingly put together by a renowned artistic designer and interior decorator, and works for a stay with family, friends, as a couple, or for a seminar. Time seems to stand still here. The sea is only five minutes away, and the cliffs at Étretat have inspired painters including Eugène Delacroix, Camille Corot, Eugène Isabey, Johan Barthold Jongkind, Gustave Caillebotte, Félix Vallotton, Henri Matisse, and André Hambourg.
We were parked in our campervan near the castle and church, surrounded by nature. The location was fantastic, and we were surprised to spot storks flying around their nest.
The owners kindly let visitors admire their castle from the park. It’s superb and well worth seeing!
Worth a look.
