WS Hôtel de Ville - Le Marais

We were wary because of the low rating and some of the reviews, but the place was clean and great, and we’d give it 5 stars. The location was great and the price was good for that area. The bed was excellent and comfortable, and the property replied quickly when we had a question.

We rented a 3bedroom apartment, but it was filthy. There was a sticky puddle on the floor, so it clearly hadn’t been mopped. Worse, the rooms had mould on the walls and ceilings and smelled terrible. We complained every day for 6 days and were promised a cleaner, but nobody came. They act like they care, but they don’t. We moved out partly on the 3rd day and got no refund. With the whole apartment so dirty, none of us believed the sheets were clean either.

I chose this apartment for its location and stayed with my family at the end of October 2024. I didn’t expect to find mold beside the bed and in the bathroom, and the smell was bothersome. I told the management right away. They offered to move us to another apartment in a different part of Paris, outside the city center, but we wanted another room in the same area because location was the reason we booked. They said the cleaning crew couldn’t come that day. They also said that if we bought anti mold products and cleaned it ourselves, they’d refund us for one night. We bought a solution and cleaned the walls, but the smell from the mold and the strong product made it hard to sleep. After a few calls and emails, we got no refund at all. I won’t stay here again.

This apartment is compact, as you’d expect in the city center, but it had what we needed as a simple base, including a small kitchen. It’s in a fantastic location and was a great price. We had a great stay and nothing to complain about. Before we arrived, it had been cleaned and stocked with fresh linens. The self-check-in codes were sent ahead of time, in the footer of the payment confirmation email, and Apartment WS staff were available at all times via Whatsapp. The transaction was smooth too, and our deposit was fully refunded after the stay. I’d happily book again and highly recommend it.
