Appart Hotel Odalys City Paris XVII

The reception staff were friendly and efficient, and the kitchenette had everything we needed. Our room was cozy and clean, with a comfortable bed and a half moon, floor-to-ceiling window that opened to let in the fresh sea breeze. I loved this beautiful Aparthotel so much that after staying one night, I decided to come back with my family for a holiday next summer. Marseille was also over my expectation 😃

My flight to Paris was cancelled by the airline the day before our trip because of a strike at Paris Beauvais airport. We couldn’t use the hotel, buses or museum tickets we’d paid for, and none of this was our fault. I’d paid the full room amount a month earlier and kindly asked if they could refund us because of this exceptional situation. I really wanted to visit Paris, and we’d spent a lot of money on the trip. The hotel wouldn’t return even 1 euro. I’m disappointed by how the staff treated me. A normal person would understand our frustration and sadness, but this hotel didn’t. I own a huge company in Poland and work with people on much larger amounts of money every day. I always treat people individually, and when something happens that my client had no influence over, I refund them, because it’s the right thing to do. This hotel only cares about its business and used the situation to keep the customer’s money. I hate this kind of approach. I hope everyone reads this before booking here, and that karma comes back to you.

The bathroom had mold, and the staff were unpleasant and unhelpful. The older man at reception was especially rude, giving us odd looks like we were a nuisance. The lower price compared with other nearby hotels is a plus, so it may be acceptable if you can live with the mold and the unfriendly service.

The staff were really good and clearly doing their best, and the rooms are very spacious. But the rooms get hot and stuffy without air conditioning, the equipment was pretty dirty, and the beds were hard. Walking back at night felt very unsafe: there were lots of people in balaclavas and black clothes listening to loud music. It's one of the city's cheaper options, and could suit a budget stay if you don't want a hostel.
