Appartement Rivoli

The room itself was decent, but the mattress was uncomfortable, with springs digging into my back, and it had a plastic bed cover. More than once, I came back after housekeeping and found no towels or soap. If you have a friend who wants to visit, don't bother. They won't let anyone come in, even just to drop you off. The location may be good, but the overnight door locking caused a real problem when I tried to check out. The front desk person was asleep behind a locked door. I couldn't get out until I'd called several times and pounded on the door and window for 15 minutes to wake them. It also felt sketchy that they said the international tax or whatever it is could only be paid in cash. They make you return your key every time you go out. Having worked in hotels before, I don't consider that professional; it feels like they don't trust customers and are too cheap to issue another key. In my opinion, the place is unprofessional, and I would never recommend it or stay here again, no matter how cheap it got.

The rooms were very clean, and the staff were great and super helpful. It's in an amazing location, and I'd definitely stay again. The rooms do get hot, though. There's a fan, and opening the windows brings in fresh air.

My boyfriend and I loved our stay. The hotel is right next to the meter, which makes getting around on Paris's easy public transport very convenient. The room had little furniture, but the basics were there, which was great for a young tourist like me. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had enough hot water. There's no elevator, so the stairs might be an issue if you're not in good shape.

The room was clean, the bed was good, and the heating worked well. The location is great. The only thing to mention is that the steps are steep, but that's Paris.
