The room was clean and the location was great for a stay. The only downside was having just one outlet in the room.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you need a good night's sleep. The bar noise was so loud it kept me awake, and it didn't stop until 6am when the bars shut. At check-in, we were told an upper floor would be better because of the noise. Why didn't they put us in a room at the back? The food might be good, but nothing else about the hotel felt worth staying a night for. It's cheap for a reason. The worst part came five minutes before midnight, after I'd finally fallen asleep with my white noise app in my ears. Someone woke me to collect a €4 tourist tax bill. I had to get Google Translate out to ask if I could pay in the morning, but was told no, the shop was closed and payments couldn't be made. I should have looked more closely at the reviews before booking. One review here says staff punched a customer for complaining. A hotel where guests need to sleep seems like a clear conflict with running a bar. Please find another hotel.

I was pleased with my three-night stay. The neighbourhood felt quite safe, lively at night, and full of people enjoying themselves. I slept pretty well with the window closed, despite having read that noise can be a problem. It's an authentic, less touristy area near Bastille and central Paris. The room was basic and small, with minimal facilities, but the en-suite shower, toilet and basin all worked. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of clean towels, though some were a little frayed and the pillows were lumpy. Staff were lovely and welcoming. I also had a delicious homemade dinner at the bistro, slow-cooked lamb shank. The hotel and bistro were fairly low cost compared with many Paris hotels, and I'd call the place warm and welcoming.

I enjoyed my night at Les Sans Culottes in Paris. It isn't the place for peace and quiet: I could hear people chatting in the bistro and the boiler was noisy. Still, I slept very well.

We had a lot of fun. The staff were really kind, and happy hour was good!
