Hôtel Châteaudun Opéra

I’d recommend this hotel, though it wouldn’t be my first choice unless I found a good rate. I made last-minute changes to my plans, and this was the only single room left for my weeklong stay. Everything else nearby was full or had crazy prices. There’s plenty around, including convenience stores and restaurants, and it’s a short walk to the 1st and 2nd arrondissements. The metro is three minutes away, and Galeries Lafayette is a ten-minute walk. My room was clean and large enough for one person, with air conditioning and mechanical shutters that blocked the sunlight completely. Reception was open 24 hours, and the clerk spoke English. The hotel is on a busy street above the metro. I think trains stop only from 1-6 AM; otherwise, it’s noisy, and I could feel the building shake a little as they passed underneath. I was on the 6th floor, so it wasn’t too bad, but light sleepers will need earplugs. There’s no sound dampening either, so you hear other room doors opening and closing. The elevator only fits two people, so be ready to take the stairs or bring your luggage up one piece at a time. It was expensive for what you get, though booking last minute may have affected the rate.

Friendly staff and okay-sized rooms, with an okay breakfast. The metro runs beneath the hotel every five minutes, and you can hear and feel it throughout the building. It’s about a 1 km walk from the metro and trains. An average place, but fine if you want to visit Paris and walk around. The duvets are polyester.

I felt safe here, and the area was calm and quiet, with the train and bus stations nearby. The staff were really welcoming and nice ✨🤍 Thanks, and see you soon. This review is for the girls!

There are two metro lines within one to three blocks, so getting around the city is easy, and there are lots of places to eat nearby. We’ve made this place home for a week. The room isn’t huge and has little storage, but it’s comfortable enough and super clean. Breakfast was really nice, though it cost an additional 15€ pp, and the rate we paid was decent for this time of year. The staff are totally awesome. I’ll say it again, they’re hard to find in a huge hotel. Highly recommend.
