I stayed four days, and someone had their belongings stolen from a locker. The place itself was filthy and uncomfortable: awful-smelling beds and floors, and bathrooms that were never cleaned. It's the least convenient place in Paris. If you haven't booked, don't.
The room needed cleaning and was a bit worn, but at that low price and with such a useful location, it was okay. We checked carefully for bed bugs after reading other reviews and didn't find any this time. Late checkout meant we could spend the morning in Paris without carrying our bags. The Metro, trains and buses make it easy to get into the city center, so I'd recommend it for a very cheap night near the heart of Paris.
It's a budget place near Bercy, with bus stops and metro stations close by. The bed was okay, a little old, and you can choose which one you want. For a night or two at this price and location, I can't complain.
A very basic hostel, but the low price makes sense for central Paris. The dorm rooms are large and might be noisy, depending on who else is staying, something the staff can't really control. Toilets and showers were clean, though very simple. You can use a locker for free with a $20 deposit, which they returned straight away. I was worried about the bedbug reports from a year earlier, so I checked the mattress. It looked new, and I didn't find any bedbugs during my stay. Fine for a cheap basic hostel.
Not sure why people are saying bad things about this place. It was clean, affordable, and adequate.
