Hotel Convention Montparnasse

The rooms and bathroom were clean, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The breakfast room was small but tidy, and the woman looking after the kitchen was very kind and polite. Staff throughout the hotel were respectful, responsible, and friendly. For a three-star place, the rate was good. The hotel and rooms are somewhat small, but it's pleasant and clean, with convenient Metro and bus access. The Eiffel Tower can be reached on foot in 40-45 minutes, or in about 15-20 minutes by Metro or bus.

The room was comfortable and good value, and the staff always greeted my family and me with a smile. We stayed for six days and felt like locals. There's a great choice of shops right outside, and breakfast had plenty of options. Brilliant location. I'd highly recommend it for a Paris stay.

I was treated badly here. I left a pair of pants and a T-shirt in the room without putting out the housekeeping sign. When I came back, they had been thrown away. The receptionist, an Indian guy, didn't offer any compensation. They recovered the pants but not the T-shirt. The hotel also wouldn't cover delivery costs if the shirt turned up. The rooms are budget, and the service is worthy of India.

The hotel itself is excellent, but the reception gave me misleading information that left me very dissatisfied. I asked specifically whether I could park in front of the hotel and if a street market or anything like that would be happening the next day. The receptionist said parking there was fine. In the morning, my car had been towed because of the weekly street market, and I had to pay a €180 fine. I sent the hotel a copy of the ticket, explained how disappointed I was, and asked if they could offer a small gesture, like a discount or a free or reduced-price night. I never got a reply or any follow-up.
