Our room looked nothing like the photos, and the condition was awful. There was water damage, cracking paint, and chunks of drywall missing. The bathroom was worse: sticky black mud covered the tub, the floor tiles were dirty, and the ceiling paint was badly peeling. My boyfriend and I stayed one night after a longer stay in Paris and a tour of northern France. I’d splurged on a pricier hotel for our last night because I wanted to be near the Garden of Luxembourg. We had an early flight the next day, and I’d read other reviews saying the hotel doesn’t reimburse people, so I let it go and told the host at checkout that we were very disappointed. Her response was puzzling: she said she gave us room 10 because the nicer room 13 had a broken air conditioner. I usually avoid bad reviews because they can unfairly affect small businesses, but I have to make an exception here. I want other tourists to know this place feels like a scam. You’d be better off in a less flashy neighborhood. Canal Saint Martin is a cool area off the beaten path, with amazing hotels that cost much less.

Beware of Hotel Denmark. I cancelled my room reservation and followed the cancellation rules, but they never returned my 126€ payment. They’re refusing to refund the money, which feels dishonest and untrustworthy. Be careful and stay away from this hotel.

The place has a cozy, unique feel, with a cute, quirky charm and lovely views from the room. It’s close to everything but still peaceful. I absolutely loved staying here and would happily return. Highly recommended!

The location was a real highlight: the Luxembourg Gardens are only two minutes away on foot, and Notre Dame and the Louvre Museum are within a 30-35 minute walk. Walking is a great way to experience Paris. There are lots of food and drink options nearby, including an award-winning boulangerie at the corner. The neighborhood is quiet, even though the hotel is central, and soundproofed windows help. It’s also close to RER B Luxemburg station, with a direct route from CGD Airport, and broad sidewalks made it easy to manage luggage. There’s a street market underneath the hotel at the start of each week. We stayed five nights. Our typical Parisian room was small but very comfortable, with clever use of space and everything we needed: comfortable beds, storage, a spacious bathroom, TV, full-length mirror, kettle, coffee, tea, sugar, and glasses. There was an iron and ironing board too, which I really needed for my suits after traveling to a conference. The cleaning was impeccable, better than I expected based on other experiences in the city. The room was tidied and the sheets and towels changed every day. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, offering advice on sights and how to get around and asking how things were going. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, but they let us leave our luggage while we explored. The same thing happened on departure day. Our flight was at 22:00, and they safely kept our suitcases after checkout so we could enjoy another day in town. I strongly recommend the hotel and would definitely return to Paris.
