Ritz Paris Hotel

The small tapas menu is fantastic, and the bar itself is a wonderful place to sit. I prefer a seat at the bar, where the staff are excellent and take time to talk through drink choices for the occasion. Since the Ritz Bar was revamped, it’s gotten even better. It feels luxurious and elegant, and getting in is much easier now that the former opening has been put back into use.

The room was beautifully maintained in every corner, which was impressive given the hotel’s long history. We were warmly welcomed by a number of staff when we arrived and generously upgraded to a wonderful room. Ritz Paris gave me the romantic Paris I’d imagined, and I think it’s the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I’d seen negative comments about discrimination and service, but nothing like that happened to me. I’d love to come back, and I hope we get another amazing upgrade next time. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

What upset us most was how the refusal was handled: it felt dismissive and the explanations kept changing. My friend and I were turned away from the Ritz boutique the other day. The guard looked us up and down, then pointed to his watch and suggested it was too late, even though the shop was still within opening hours. Next he said cameras weren’t allowed because my friend had one on his shoulder. We offered to put it away right then, but he kept saying “no photos or videos,” although we weren’t taking any. At last he claimed the boutique was “at capacity,” which didn’t match what we could see or the excuses that came before. I’d had a similar experience at the Ritz London bar before. They said it was “at capacity” when I asked to enter, then suddenly had room once staff found out we were hotel guests. That contrast made this especially disappointing. Luxury should also be about how people are treated, and the service here didn’t feel classy. No Christmas gifts from the Ritz boutique for us this year.

We were graciously offered an upgrade to the F. Scott Fitzgerald Suite, which made a special stay even more so. The care was there in every detail, with warm, precise attention that never felt intrusive. Check-in to check-out was seamless, and the service was among the best I’ve experienced anywhere. Ritz Paris has a history and quiet elegance that’s hard to replicate. It felt like an experience that will stay with me long after leaving, and a stay unlike any other.
