Hôtel de France Invalides

We barely heard the busy street from our first-floor room, and the view of Les Invalides was lovely. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The walk-in shower was useful too, though its drain was a little clogged, so we had to lay towels down to stop water spreading towards the door. Reception staff were courteous when we arrived and left, and the room was cleaned daily during our three-night stay. It’s a cosy little hotel in a nice area, with restaurants and bakeries close by. The Eiffel Tower is about a 10-15 minute walk, and there’s plenty to explore in every direction. We walked most places to take in the scenery, though metro stations are nearby for a quicker ride. I’d highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed!

The small room was very clean, and having a bathtub was nice for unwinding, though the shower pressure was a bit weak. There’s only a little round table, already taken up by the tea set, and the chair is hard and too high to sit comfortably or work on a laptop. Hallway sounds also come through easily, so the soundproofing could be better. Hôtel de France Invalides is right by Les Invalides, a few minutes from École Militaire metro station and within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower. Several supermarkets are nearby. The front desk is small, and complimentary croissants and tea are offered each afternoon. Staff were polite and professional. It’s clean, well located and good value, though there are a few comfort issues.

Breakfast offers a wide choice and is very good value. Staff in both the kitchen and reception were friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. The rooms are small, as you’d expect in Paris, but they’re well equipped, with modern bathrooms, good bedding, a kettle and charging points by the bed. It’s a lovely little hotel for visiting some of the main sights. This was our second stay, and we highly recommend it.

The room was clean and comfortable even though it was cold outside, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Each afternoon they serve complimentary pastries and tea in the lobby, which was a lovely touch. The main drawback is the soundproofing. You can hear hallway noise, especially through the connecting room doors. The area feels very quiet and safe, with a supermarket, restaurants and cafés nearby. École Militaire metro station on Line 8 is just 400 meters away, and the hotel has a beautiful view of Les Invalides. I’d recommend paying for a superior room with a balcony and Invalides view. It’s absolutely worth it.
