Hotel Hippodrome

The neighborhood worked well for visiting monmarte, about a 20-minute walk away. Breakfast came at 9 a.m. with baguettes, croissants, herbal tea and coffee. Staff were helpful and friendly when we asked for a couple of extra things for drinks, no problem at all. For a 2 star hotel, we had a very comfortable stay. The room was good otherwise, though the shower room was a bit small.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this was seriously the worst experience ever. The hotel owner racially abused me, and the only water available was burning hot, so I couldn’t shower. Customer service was terrible, and the hotel manager was always drunk and a horrible human being. Save your money and don’t come here. I’m in the process of getting a refund!!!! 😡

We were only there for a few days, thankfully, and I’d tell people to find another hotel. The place was beyond terrible. The rooms were dirty, the beds awful, and the shower barely put out any water. The sink had weak flow and drained very slowly. There were bed bugs, the nearby street was noisy at night, and the rooms were noisy too. Breakfast wasn’t worth the price. They only cleaned the room if we asked, and even then we wondered if it had ever really been cleaned. The carpet on the stairs and first floor was stained, filthy and disgusting, and the wifi was slow. Don’t book here.

A really nice little hotel, clean and comfortable, with very friendly staff and a brilliant location. Couldn’t fault it.
