Hotel de Paris Montparnasse

Being close to Gare Montparnasse is a big advantage. The staff are helpful and friendly, breakfast is good, and the hotel is simple but clean and comfortable, with air conditioning and a good shower. My room this time was on the small side. Last year I had a larger one with a safe.

For a business trip, this is a fair option. It's an easy walk from Gare Montparnasse, and the staff are polite and helpful. The hotel is clean and tidy, the breakfast is good, and the small rooms are surprisingly quiet despite having only basic amenities.

I've been to Europe often and this was my fifth visit to Paris. I've rarely felt so welcomed by every member of a hotel team. Hotels often aren't very friendly toward Asians 🥲, so their warmth and kindness meant a lot to me. The location, room, and bathroom were all excellent too. I really recommend staying here.

Our room felt dated, and traffic outside was noisy all night. It was very hot, with old furniture and creaky floorboards. On top of that, when we returned the evening before an early checkout, the wardrobe was locked with a key. My expensive jacket and some clothes were inside. The receptionist came up but didn't know who had locked it, so she called the manager, who sent a technician to break the door open and get our things. Definitely poor value at over €518 for two nights.
