Hôtel de Suez

I can’t say enough good things about this place, though I almost hate to give such a glowing review and let everyone discover it. It’s reasonably priced, very quiet, extra clean, and the rooms have been newly remodelled. They serve a nice breakfast, and it’s a small hotel where I even met the owner, Anne Charlotte. You don’t get that personal feel at a big chain. The location is the big draw: right in central Paris, with everything close by and Notre Dame Cathedral just a five-minute walk away. The staff are fantastic. This is the only hotel I’ll stay at when I visit Paris.

We explored a lot on foot and didn’t need transport or taxis, thanks to the very good location. Our renovated three-bed room looked out onto the street, and it was beautiful, with exactly the Parisian feel we wanted. Breakfast was tasty and enjoyable, and the staff were friendly. For the price, the service was good value.

Nothing luxurious, but it did the job. The view from the room was nice and the hotel was close to train stations. There were lots of stairs, and breakfast was shocking. We watched Ratatouille on the TV one night. That’s all.

The location was the best part: my fiancée and I walked to several sights, including the Rodin Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, and even the Eiffel Tower. Luxembourg Gardens were only a few steps away. We stayed four nights and had a wonderful time. The room was tidy and spacious, with a hot shower and a very clean bathroom. I really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to couples and families.
