Hôtel Edgar & Achille

The room had a comfortable bed, a good shower, and nice storage, especially for somewhere so close to everything in Paris. The staff were very friendly, too. It felt more like staying in an apartment than a hotel, in a good way, and the whole visit was wonderful.

It was a great stay in a quiet, well-equipped room, even though it was small. The Louvre, Bourse de Commerce, and Pompidou Center were only a short walk away. I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a nice view over the street, and the TV had Chromecast so we could stream our own entertainment. The soundproofing was okay: there was a little hallway noise, though not much, since there were few rooms on our floor. The room wasn’t big, but the bed and pillows were nice, and there was air conditioning. Nearby, a pleasant street has plenty of restaurants, bars, and takeaway places. There were some shower stains that could have been cleaned off.

Parking nearby is a nightmare, so if you’re driving, be ready to pay about 50€/day for the public garage. We didn’t try breakfast, since we went to one of the many excellent nearby cafes every day. We booked the "Gentleman" category and got a room on the 5th floor with 2 (!) balconies. It wasn’t huge, but had plenty of space for the two of us, probably generous by Paris standards. The location and service were top notch. Our room was very clean and still had that "recently renovated" feel, so we can’t confirm the negative comments from some other guests.
