The one exception was Geoff, who was genuinely kind and helpful. Otherwise, the staff were very unprofessional and showed no accountability when they made mistakes. I stayed nine nights after extending our original seven, and confirmed several times, verbally and in writing, that our room was secured. The hotel got the dates wrong, double-booked it, then tried to blame me even though I had written proof. Instead of honoring what we'd agreed, they told us to leave. On our last day in Paris, my husband, baby, and I had to pack up and move to another hotel. It was chaotic, stressful, and deeply disappointing. A hotel's professionalism shows when something goes wrong, and they failed completely.

The elevator was a huge plus for us, since we didn't want to wreck our knees carrying bags up stairs. In Paris, that's not so common. Our room felt pretty spacious by Paris standards, and the kettle made it cozy. There's a store nearby, and it's incredibly close to the Louvre, with easy access to everything we wanted to see. The staff were friendly and spoke English, though the breakfast cook didn't, which made things a bit hard. The atmosphere is well designed and breakfast was amazing. I spend hours searching for affordable but decent places whenever I travel abroad, and finding this one was such a win. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. We stayed for 10 nights and were very happy. The reception staff were really helpful, and although they moved us a couple of times trying to find the best room, that wasn't necessary since all the rooms were good. We only tried breakfast on our last day and wished we'd had it sooner. It was very good and convenient. The hot water took a long time to come through, though I guess it has quite a distance to travel. We'd gladly stay again.

I liked walking around the neighborhood, and the hotel was handy for the metro, restaurants, and attractions. The lobby was lovely, staff friendly, elevator convenient, and our room had a reasonable amount of space. It was clean and worked fine for us. There were some annoying problems, though. The bed was rock hard and the pillows pretty flat. It was quite noisy, and I kept thinking I could hear and feel a train underground, even from the fifth floor, but who knows. The toilet wouldn't stop running until we found a way to make it, and the bathroom door wouldn't close fully. Given all that, I think the hotel's 3.8 average on Google is fair.
