Hôtel L de Lutèce - Notre-Dame

Halfway through our week, breakfast cook Moise already knew what drinks we liked and had my coffee going as soon as I sat down. He and the rest of the staff were friendly and gave excellent service. The umbrellas by the entrance came in handy, too. We loved the quiet courtyard room and the whole vibe. It's a perfect spot for a week, near the Marais and within walking distance of lots of other places. The island itself has an insane amount of charm. We might come back soon and stay here or at their sister location down the street.

For €300 a night with no breakfast, I'd expect more. My room was small, basic and rough around the edges, with peeling paint and chipped surfaces. It faced the street, and the bin collections at 7am made it super noisy. It also didn't feel like a 4* hotel: there were no slippers, fridge, minibar or little extras like chocolates or biscuits. The location and staff were pretty good, but I've stayed in much better 4* hotels in Paris for less.

Moses makes a delicious breakfast cooked to order in the morning, and he's wonderful. The staff are amazing, and the place feels elegant, fun and QUIET. This is my new favorite hotel in Paris. What an absolute gem! I won't stay anywhere else.
