Hotel Litteraire Arthur Rimbaud, BW Signature Collection

The hotel made it easy to relax, with an atmosphere of well-being and art around the rebel angel Arthur Rimbaud. It’s centrally located and well connected to the airport and Gare du nord. I had a great breakfast and got good dinner suggestions for nearby restaurants. My room was upgraded from Confort to Junior Suite. This was my second stay in less than six months, and I’ll be back. Thanks to all the staff for making me feel welcome!

Getting around was straightforward from Strasbourg–Saint-Denis Metro Station. Notre-Dame, the Louvre, and Montmartre are about 15-20 minutes away by metro, though there isn’t much worth seeing within an easy walk. The neighborhood feels rough and uncomfortable, especially at night, with visible sex workers and shady people around. This area was historically near the city’s slums, and you can still feel some of that atmosphere. It’s not unsafe per se, but it isn’t picturesque or elegant. The hotel itself was decent, modern, and comfortable. The room was quiet, clean, ready when we arrived, and had good air conditioning. The lobby and hallways were well kept. There was no fridge, which is a significant inconvenience if you’re traveling with a baby, medication, or drinks that need cooling. Wi-Fi worked very well. We didn’t try breakfast or other dining options. Check-in was the low point. We arrived early, and the receptionist first said the room would be ready by 2:00 PM. After we waited well past that, she said, “check-in is after 2 PM, not at 2 PM.” It felt dismissive and unhelpful. She later apologized and was polite after that. The other staff were helpful and professional, especially at checkout when we needed help with a taxi and water. Overall, I’d only recommend staying here if value and transport access matter more to you than charm and atmosphere.

We were only passing through before heading to another country, and I wish we could’ve stayed longer. The hotel is small but charming, and our room was comfortable and welcoming. Staff were exceptionally friendly, which made the stay enjoyable. It was also easy to get to nearby destinations.

Great value and a nice amount of space. It’s tucked into the 10th, so it feels quieter, but you’re still only a metro ride or a 20 minute walk from all the bustle. A good location for returning visitors.
