Hotel Moderniste

We spent nearly a week at Hotel Moderniste and really enjoyed it. The neighborhood was exceptionally quiet, so we could get the restful nights we needed between days exploring the city. The hotel is modest in size but has a warm, family-like feel. On our first evening, the staff gave us a kind welcome with a short tour and a local guide. We also got a fresh bottle of filtered water in our room every day, and the free hot drinks in the lobby were a thoughtful touch. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting comfort and calm in Paris.

The staff were lovely, and there was always tea, coffee, and water available. The breakfast lady even kindly filled my water bottle. Still, I'd personally skip breakfast. It was on the petit side, and Paris has many more options. My son and I had a large room on the fifth floor with three beds, but what I thought would be a double and a single turned out to be a sofa bed without bedding. We would've been better off with three singles, and I think that should be made clearer. The rooms were close together by the elevator, so I was woken by noise after falling asleep, though the morning was quiet. We had a quirky view from the small porthole window and little balcony. It's a cute little hotel on a quiet side street in southwest Paris, only a short walk from Convention station. The rooms are very compact.

Hotel Moderniste is quiet and well located. Restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and a Metro station for getting to the city center are all a short walk away. The lovely staff were kind and helpful, and around whenever we needed them, day or night. Breakfast was delicious and reliable, with eggs, cured meats, fruit, yogurt, French pastries, and baguettes. I'd definitely recommend it!

The room was spotless, modern, and beautifully designed. We also enjoyed the lounge, with free daily snacks and coffee or tea, and the location in a lovely, safe neighborhood a short way from central Paris. My partner and I had a comfortable four-night stay, made special by the warm, professional, and trustworthy staff, from the front desk to customer service. The thoughtful surprises and excellent email communication before and during our visit impressed us. Even after we put up the “no cleaning” sign, they emailed to say they were there if we needed anything. Thanks to the whole team. We loved Paris and France, and we'll definitely be back soon!
