Hotel Monge

We stayed in room #603 on the 6th floor from 5/2-9/2. The rooms are on the small side, but that's Paris, and everything was clean and nice. You can sometimes hear the subway, but it didn't bother us. The higher floor probably helped keep street and metro noise down. The staff went beyond what we expected, and the service was great.

The rooms we booked were tiny, but thoughtfully equipped, with perfect bathrooms, comfy beds, excellent L'Occitane products, and lovely common areas. The hotel makes up for the lack of space with Parisian style. It's beautiful, stylish, and perfectly maintained. The coffee machine made the best caffè latte we had on the trip, and the location was excellent. Staff were super helpful too. When our transport back to the Airport got messed up, the night manager stepped in and sorted it out.

The free mini bar water and juice were a nice touch, and they refilled everything daily. Our room was street-side on the second floor, so we heard some traffic and the metro rumble during the day, though it quieted down at night. The location has a nice neighborhood feel, with two metro stops and a great boulangerie nearby. It's also close to the Pantheon. It was very cold during our visit, so we couldn't really enjoy the gardens nearby. The staff were friendly, as others have said, and recommended a great restaurant we never would have found ourselves.

The lounge became our evening hangout, where we chatted and met a lovely British couple on their tenth visit to Hotel Monge. They have free tea and coffee all day, snacks, and a generous honor bar. There's also a hammam downstairs that left my skin feeling refreshed. We loved our room. It faced the main street, with double French doors for fresh air and a view of people passing below. The bathroom was adorable and generously sized for Paris, with L'Occitane products and sparkly tiles. There was a table and two chairs, a large TV, and an extremely comfortable bed flanked by bookcase shelves. They also left bottled water and a few complimentary drinks in the fridge. We were welcomed warmly and checked in in the main lounge. Our room wasn't ready yet, so we went out for lunch and came back afterward. The hotel has a quaint, charming feel and a small elevator that can fit a few adults. I first saw the place in 2016 and knew I wanted to stay. Several trips later, it was everything I expected. I've found my Parisian home whenever I return.
