Htel Paris Voltaire

I really enjoyed my stay at this lovely family-owned hotel. The owner and team were warm and accommodating, and it’s conveniently right by the Voltaire Metro. I’d recommend it to couples or solo travelers. The one downside is there’s no AC, though that’s common in smaller hotels and Airbnbs too.

My reservation was cancelled the night before my stay, which caused a lot of last-minute stress. The first time, they said my card had been declined but gave no further explanation. I called more than ten times without getting an answer, then got a message saying the guest’s name had to match the cardholder because I was booking for my father. I booked again using my father’s card to make sure the names matched, and they still cancelled without explaining why. A quick search suggests this happens quite often. The whole experience was terrible.

I had a pleasant stay here a few years ago, and I’ll probably choose the hotel again on my next Paris trip. The room was comfortable, the water pressure was great, and the elevator was useful. Wi-Fi worked well, and there was cable TV. Reception were kind and helpful. You’re near a métro stop, and, as with most parts of Paris, markets, restaurants, and bakeries are within walking distance.

Cozy, lovely rooms for little money, with public transport nearby. The place is wonderful, and the staff are helpful and really friendly.
